Viktor A. AGLITSKIY - Technical Director of Construction. | Decision about construction of Ural Copper Electrolyte Plant was taken by USSR Labour and Defense Soviet on July, 27 1928 and the place of future plant site – Medny Rudnik settlement – was determined in September of the same year.
The construction of Copper Electrolyte Plant was started in September of 1929. Alexander A. Yanen was appointed as Manager of Construction and Viktor A. Aglitskiy – as Technical Director. It was planned that the plant will be the biggest copper electrolyte company in Europe. At the same time dressing mill was constructed and Pyshminsko-Kluchevskoe copper mines flooded during Civil war were restored.

The foundation of the first production line was laid on May 20, 1930. It was carpentery shop. Construction of machine workshop was started next month. One month later the first main electrolyte production line was laid. Copper smelter was created on May, 1931 and works for production of slurry were started in September. The first equipment was installed in 1932. Lining of the first anode and wire bar furnaces was completed, casters were installed, overhead crane was put into operation, “Demag” crane was installed and tested by July, 15 1934.
The first anodes were produced on August, 3 1934. This historical event has marked the birth of Pyshma Copper Electrolyte Plant. The first copper cathode was produced on August, 26 and the first copper wire bars were produced on September, 6.
