Celebration of the Victory Day in Verkhnyaya Pyshma

The Victory Day’s celebrations started with momentous meetings near the War Memorial established in honour of metallurgists of Pyshminskiy Copper Refinery fallen during the World War II.

The most honorable guests of ceremonies were war veterans and workers who came from 8 UMMC enterprises, namely Sredneuralsk Copper Smelter, Svyatogor, Nadezhdinskiy Metallurgical Plant, Bogoslovskoye Mine Administration, Safianovskaya Med, Sukhoy Log Foundry, Revda Nonferrous Plant, Revda Brick Factory and Uralelektromed.

isu_152.jpgThe highlight of VD celebration was parade of military vehicles and machinery of the World War II times. All vehicles shown to citizens and guests of the town, were exhibited in the Military Museum after their renovation and putting on the move by Uralelktromed’s team. On May 9, 2016 alongside with machinery cavalcaded in the previous parades, the new ones took the town roads for the first time. They were a heavy tank IS-2, halftracked GAZ-AA-“Kegress” as well as lend-leased big amphibious DUKW-353 and light Ford GPA. Besides, the column of militiamen consisted of ordinary citizens passed by the spectators.  The festive parade was capped by appearance of modern combat aircrafts and helicopters.   

14.JPGAlmost two thousand citizens of Verknyaya Pyshma took part in the Immortal Regiment march (the international public event).  

The final action of the Victory Day celebrations was a display of bright fireworks.
